Ungoth Inc.
Ungoth started out back in 1991, as a dream I had while waking up very slowly after sleeping off the flu. It merged with conscious ideas I've held regarding business. I grew up with people who worked for themselves, owned companies, and worked hard to succeed. At that time I had no name for the business, only the idea of running a business to put other people in business.
After two divorces and a similar change of friendships over 2 decades, I'd run several businesses as a store manager and did a stint as regional manager of a video store. Neither wives nor friends were ever supportive of my goals in any way. In that span of time I conceived of 'ungoth' and several other names, logos, and technologies for this business. Of course, in the meantime the world changed. Now there are hundreds of investor firms designed to get small business off the ground, but still nothing in the areas I was most concerned about, Music, and Movies.
The focus became media after 9-11, when I watched corporate media spout corporate and government dogma without question. My favorite reporter, Dan Rather, got fired for saying "That looks like a demolition. That's a demolition," when covering the World Trade Center. I realized that there were bigger fish to fry. Business itself no longer needed a hand up, but media had collapsed.
